The library is in the former home of author Henry Miller's longtime friend, Emil White, in a meadow surrounded by redwood trees. Miller, a Big Sur resident 1944-62, wrote several works while living along the rugged Pacific coast. The library staff serve as docents, showing visitors Miller's works, a collection of his artwork and videos about the writer. Concerts, workshops and art exhibits take place on the library's grounds. Allow 1 hour minimum.

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park SR 1 & Pfeiffer Ridge Rd. Big Sur, CA 93920 USA Phone: (831) 667-2315 Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, s. on SR 1, covers 964 acres of coastal redwood and chaparral on the Big Sur River. Visitors can see groves of redwood trees while traversing the hiking trails within the park. Rangers conduct naturalist and campfire programs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Year-round overnight camping is permitted.
